The goal of the hackathon is to create an interactive visualization that can be hosted on a publicly available website (e.g. CDP) where every company that participated in CDP’s supply chain program at the product level can compare the carbon performance of their own products against competing companies. Participating companies will be directed to the website to see the analysis results and how their products stack up against similar products within a sector.
A secondary goal is that sustainability-minded consumers can gain insight into the carbon performance of various products, brands, and industry sectors by visiting the website and learning about the life cycle analytics of products.
The interactivity of the visualization will supply a way for companies and interested parties to click on products and have insight into the supply chain of the product and a clear lens to learn more about its impact.
